LA Guns live album cover.jpgOn the back of last year's excellent “The Missing Peace” album, it should come as no surprise that the hard-hitting sleaze rockers L.A. Guns were eager to hit the road and tour the album. This 14-track live album/DVD was captured on tape in Milan, Italy, and features both the classic cuts and the soon-to-be anthems from the aforementioned 2017 studio album. The chemistry between the band members is all there and leaves nothing to be desired and the raw sound has punch and guts to it.

Tracii Guns and Phil Lewis are both at the top of their game and it is impossible to resist these sharp and kick-ass live renditions of “Electric Gypsy”, “Killing Machine”, “Sex Action”, “Speed”, and “Malaria”. The first half of the disc is slightly more exciting than the latter half, but in the overall perspective, the entire thing is quite thrilling.

“Made in Milan” is fiery, passionate, and energetic from more or less start to finish, and there is a certain conviction to the songs that is a pleasure to experience. It may not offer anything new as such and one could argue that it does not add much to the L.A. Guns discography as whole. Then again; it marks a new chapter and a newfound enthusiasm within the band, which is pretty cool in and of itself, and it is splendid to hear the rapturous audience go ape-shit to the band's song material both old and new.

If anything, “Made in Milan” proves that the new tracks are right up there with the best of them and that these fuckers are still capable of tearing a venue to pieces. The adrenaline is so prevalent in places that one can almost reach out and touch it. Note that this review merely covers the CD version, not the DVD version.
