ScreaMachine album cover.jpgDo you guys enjoy listening to Judas Priest and hard-hitting power metal with balls the size of Texas in general? If so, this ten-track effort by ScreaMachine ought to be right up your alley as it contains bucketloads of thick and wildly memorable riffs, proper heavy metal vocals that harken back to the 80s, and a massive sound and production that recalls some of the later records by the aforementioned Judas Priest (i.e. "Redeemer of Souls" and "Firepower"). There is not a shred or originality or innovative thinking to this self-titled offering, but only an idiot would claim that it is not utterly charming and catchy as fuck, which basically means that this is exactly the kind of disc you spin when in the mood for a headbanging treat that delivers well-written and enjoyable songs that you can sing along to and simply have a good time immersing yourself in.

Again, this is hardly revolutionary stuff and ScreaMachine's debut will either set the world of metal afire nor go down in history as a must-have opus, but the riffs are so huge that they will rattle the fixtures in your ceiling and in many ways, the LP comes across as a heartfelt homage to (and exploration of) epic, bombastic, and loud no-frills metal music possessing a solid drive. Many skilled musicians make a guest appearance on the record including Steve DiGiorgio (Testament, ex-Death), which is awesome and adds color to the tunes.

Fans of Jag Panzer, Accept, Manowar, Alcatrazz, Judas Priest, fiery guitars, and power metal with plenty of double-bass drumming ought to give this promising Italian outfit a shot as there is a lot of cool stuff going on here., which is nicely illustrated by the energetic track named "Mistress of Disaster" and the thunderous album opener "Demondome".
